Recently I came across these books . . .

Recently I came across these books . . .

Since long we are not posting anything on this blog so thought of posting about books I recently came across.

Recently on friendship day I gifted Parag one book ‘Every Second Counts”.
It’s a inspiring story which captures the mind-set of a man who has beaten incredible odds. Book was in boom as recently Tour de France was going on.

Every Second Counts is a 2003 autobiographical book by cyclist Lance Armstrong written in collaboration with sports writer and columnist Sally JenkinsIt is a follow-up to Armstrong's ‘It’s Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life’ which as well was written with Sally Jenkins. The narrative begins from after Armstrong's first Tour de France win in 1999 and continues up till his fifth win in 2003.

Another book is “Totto Chan, the Little Girl at the Window”.

Totto-chan, the Little Girl at the Window is a children’s book recommended by one of my office friend Swati written by Japanese television personality and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Tetsuko Kuroyanagi. The book was published in 1981, and became an instant bestseller in Japan.
The book is about the values of the unconventional education that Kuroyanagi received at Tomoe Gakuen, a Tokyo elementary school founded by educator Sosaku Kobayashi during World War II, and it is considered her childhood memoir.
You can have quick view of this on the link:

I think Alok, Chandana and Amol you can contribute more to this blog :-)

Our trip to Shegaon

I am back with a small narrative of our short and long awaited trip to Shegaon. For quite a long time ,both of us were juggling with our schedules to make this trip happen but all in vain. So on the 6th of the month , GOD really wanted us to come .On 6th November-Friday ,we called a driver for our car and left for Shegaon at 8 pm after office. It was quite a tiresome journey as some patches were really bad. Also we had to be very cautious during night as the area covering Jalna and all small villages was very solitary with not a single hut in sight for miles . So we were wide awake during the whole journey ,playing music on full volume to lift our spirits.Anyways ,we reached at 4:00 am and as an add on to the 'pleasure' of our journey ,didn't find a single room left in the Bhakt Nivas. So we booked a room in a a lodge nearby.Ridiculously ,it was named as 'Maharaja Inn'. Neways after all the stunts , we quickly got ready so as to avoid the bheed in the campus. At sharp 6:30 , we were in the Mandir premises. The morning seemed so fresh and pious there. The sound of the ringing bells of the temple as if purified our souls. We got a quick opportunity to get darshan of Gajanan Maharaj. I felt so relieved and as if a burden was lifted up from my mind and soul. I was visiting the place after a long gap of 10 years. I must say that the place is so well managed these days that there is hardly any hassle for any one even if he/she is going there for the first time. Irrespective all these efforts by the management and the trust , the people of our country as if have vowed to create a mess wherever they go. Anyways, so we were free by 7:00 am. We went to a small eatery in the campus .Had spicy vadas there which made me-an ardent lover of chillies ,shed tears for almost 10 minutes. So then we had to kill almost 3 and a half hours as the mahaprasad is scheduled at 11 am to 1 pm. So considering the constant reminders from our parents , we decided to visit Anand Sagar . We chose to go by auto which charge a meager amount of 30 Rs. Anand Sagar is a place which is developed by the Trust as a Spiritual as well as entertainment center for devotees coming to Shegaon. To be very frank , i had not expected anything in Shegaon ,which is so beautiful and well managed. Would like to share some pictures of the beautiful and serence place :

After absorbing all the beauty ,we headed back to the Mandir as people start gathering for the Mahaprasad almost an hour prior to the actual time . So by 10:30 we were also in the hall. I must admit that right from my childhood,I am a big time fan of the Mahaprasad.Though the food is very simple , it is as if a blessing from heaven. It is served daily to all the devotees; may it a routine day or a day of celebration or Utsav. Lakhs of devotees take this Mahaprasad daily .One must see the preparation and distribution of the Mahaprasad to believe it.We savoured it to the core .We were back in the 'lavish abode' by 12 :00 noon. As there was nothin left to be seen or done, we decided to leave for Pune ,the same day so that we were able to take rest on sunday. So at 1:30 pm , we packed our bags and reached Pune at 10:30 -content with the blessings of Gajanan Maharaj.

Trikonachya baheracha cone.....

Our early blog or a probable web site

This reminds me of my days in chennai...on one friday night, after 4th round of drink (just to make myself very clear, hard for others and soft for myself), we had a bright idea of developing a website of our own...it was easy (and most importantly free) then at geocities...so we had designed the web site the next day...it really helped all of us come closer as everyone contributed actively and it did help me to know the very little creative side of mine as i was one who named the site...it was "smoke'n'glasses"...surely it was inspired from our situation when this bright idea was stuck...:)) One thing I want to make clear here is that this reference does not mean that, G & C, you were in the same situation as we were then, when this idea struck your bright minds... ;)I'm not too good at my pen but would definitely try to add some from my bag...
